A software bug in our aggregation switches led to a major outage when we committed a (regular) change in our edge network related to the DDoS attacks. Only rebooting the devices could restore Layer 2 connectivity which was completely lost. Connectivity was recovered at 14:00 CEST, BGP sessions are coming since then.

We will be installing a new ATS at 14h CEST. **This will impact our entire VPS infrastructure, as all nodes will need to be started up again on the new ATS in a rolling fashion.** Jun 15, 12:03:33 GMT+0 - Identified - We have started with this maintenance. Servers will start being switched over one by one. Expect downtime during this process. Jun 15, 12:44:57 GMT+0 - Completed - srv4 is now also online. It was due to a network misconfiguration that was triggered during the reboot.

The maintenance is completed. As usual, we will continue monitoring the situation for any anomalies. Jun 15, 12:26:03 GMT+0 - Identified - Most nodes are back online again. We’ve identified the issue to be caused by a faulty ATS (automatic transfer switch). An ATS is responsible for automatically transferring a power supply from its primary source to a backup source when it senses a failure or outage in the primary source. Currently, the ATS has been completely removed to get our infrastructure back online as quickly as possible.
